Black Belt Drumming is a learning curriculum developed by Mike Fix. It was created through his experience teaching over 15,000 private drum lessons, studying with dozens of instructors, playing thousands of gigs and doing hours of research.
A mix of rudiments, exercises, music reading and songs — students begin at the white stick level and strive for a black stick. Because students always have a goal to reach, they continually know what to work on and where they stand on achievement. The average student takes 4–5 years to reach the black stick level.
